I’m a designer, brand strategist, aspiring writer (who isn’t?), educator, and unapologetic servant leader.

My professional design career spans thirty years, the majority spent at Chicago-based financial research firm Morningstar. Starting as a product designer, I worked closely with our research teams on data visualizations for a variety of print and digital products, bringing clarity to complex financial information to help investors make good decisions. Over time my role shifted to marketing and brand design, ultimately becoming the Creative Director for a multidisciplinary team responsible for all global brand and marketing programs. Today I’m the Head of Design for Morningstar Sustainalytics, an international business division of Morningstar that delivers data and research solutions specifically focused on sustainable investing. I’m also an adjunct instructor of typography at my alma mater, the UIC School of Design.

In addition to my undergraduate studies at UIC, I was fortunate to attend the Basel School of Design’s summer typography workshops with Wolfgang Weingart, and I also completed The Yale School of Management's Business Perspectives for Creative Leaders program sponsored by the AIGA.

My work has received recognition by the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and the Society of Typographic Arts (STA), including entry into the permanent Chicago Design Archive.
